Spring Ayurvedic Cleanse

Benefits of a Proper Kitchari Cleanse

I was recently asked to give a few clarifications and insights about the practice of Ayurvedic seasonal cleansing, Pancha Karma, and its benefits.

There are many, but the practice is mainly the same. It is really about improving digestion and metabolism. By ridding our body of excessive ama or toxins from winter weight gain, we align ourselves with spring energy, improve our immunity and wellbeing.
The steps are simple, we focus on spring detoxifying foods, digestive spices, bitters, carminative cooking practices and a boost of energy. Other aspects are lymphatic massage, steam baths, and supportive daily check-ins to stay on track.

Here is a list of the most common improper digestive symptoms that can be healed by this practice:

Gas, bloating, cramping, and/or gurgling

Diarrhea or chronic loose stool

Heaviness or sleepiness after food

Slow metabolism

Lack of appetite

A coating on the tongue

Bad breath

Teeth marks around the perimeter of the tongue or other symptoms of malabsorption

General feelings of heaviness and lethargy

The spring Ayurvedic cleanse can be safely performed at home, even with a full schedule. This particular cleanse is suitable for all body types, as it can be modified to fit everybody’s individual needs. This cleanse is typically done for 5-7 days, depending on your schedule and includes pre-cleanse and post-cleanse meetings as well as daily support. The goal is an easy transition into and out of this cleanse.

As described in the ancient Ayurvedic tips, a proper cleanse has these benefits:

Increases the digestive capacity

Removes toxins from the system

Removes heaviness and congestion from the body

Removes heaviness and congestion from the mind

Enhances the “Satvic” (balanced) state of an individual

Enhances energy and feelings of wellness (prior to the cleanse; during the cleanse one may experience lower energy due to the flushing of toxins and mild diet)

Increases one’s confidence and motivation level

The cost is $200 which includes a pre/post meeting on 3/30 and 4/6 at 10:30 am. Phone consultation is also available if you can not attend meetings.

This includes herbs, oils and a full printout of daily routines, recipes and full daily support.
